Why You Should Be Recording Your Live Streams and How To Get Started
With all of the live streams that your church has been filming over the past year, there are bound to be a few congregants that missed a service at your live streaming time; or grandparents that weren’t able to see their grandchildren in the nativity play; or sermons that your congregants want to rewatch.
It’s time to start recording your live streams! You’ll be thankful for doing this regularly when you are able to distribute your videos to your congregants or repurpose them for other videos that your church makes.

OBS Studio is a free and open source software for video recording and live streaming. Once you have your live stream set up, all you have to do to start screen recording is click ‘Start Recording’ on the main OBS Studio Page. It should immediately start recording. When you click ‘Stop Recording’, your file should save to whichever directory you specified in settings.
Similar to OBS Studio, Camtasia is a screen recording software. It can be used both for screen recording and video editing. With Camtasia, you can record your entire screen, or just a portion of your screen. When you’ve finished recording, you can also use Camtasia to add effects or make edits to the video.
Movavi is an all-in-one video maker, including editing and converting functions, and a screen recorder. Movavi includes different tools for screen recording including simultaneous sound recording from multiple sources, customizable scheduling and capture settings, and the ability to export to popular formats.

Both current versions of Windows and Mac OS have built-in apps that allow you to record your screen. You can easily use these to record your live streams without downloading any additional software.
